Help Me with Laughter…Please

I know I’ve abused our relationship over the past week.  Your posts are piling up in my reader and I can’t apologize enough.  I haven’t even been able to post on my own blog if it’s any consolation.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to start catching up with you all starting Tuesday. 

This week’s theme at I ♥ Faces is “laughter.”  I am exhausted from staying up and working all night and really ready to go to bed.  I cannot decide which of these photos to enter in the contest.  I had every intention of asking you to help me decide, but honestly, none of them would have a chance of winning the contest, so I’m just going to share them here with you.  I mean, honestly, have you ever looked at some of the entries?  There are some beautiful photos out there!  Man, I love photography.  One day…

Anyway, I digress.  Again. Imagine that.

First, YAY!!!  Welcome to a few new friends and a few good IRL friends!  Hey Dawn! Hey Linda!  I knew you were out there!

As I am heading into the last few weeks of the school year, it is all I can do to keep my head above water at work.  Nothing like a deadline! Though I’m not complaining, as it cannot get here fast enough! However, I feel like my Google reader stays full and the only blogs I try to make sure I read right now are yours and just a few other of my very favorites.  But I am being an awful commenter.  I’m just moving as fast as I can every minute I get.  I can’t wait for summer to get here so I can Twitter all day long…Facebook till my heart’s content…and follow your blogs without stalking!

So, give me a few more weeks and I promise I’ll stop being so rude!

I ♥ Faces Week 17 “Hats”

I’m pulling out an oldie but a goodie this week for my kids entry. But that’s ok because entering always helps learn something. My favorite new learning recently has been the term “catchlights.” This photo has catchlights. Can you spot them? Anyway, by digging through my archives for this photo, I spent more time stretching my legs in Photoshop trying some things in post-production. I’m learning all about cropping, adding effects and actions, enhancing colors and making adjustments. In the end, all I did was find a crop that spoke to me, tweaked the blue in his eyes just a little, enhanced the red jacket a bit and called it a day. I wish I knew how to do more with skin tone but that’s for another day! So, without further ado, my entry for this weeks contest:

I can’t publish the other photos in this entry, but tomorrow I will post the original, along with several other crops. It’s interesting to see the difference that cropping makes. And those who know me may wonder why I didn't enter this picture, but I had already used it as an entry and you can't use a photo twice. I know, it totally fit the theme! I was bummed! But I hope this one works, too!
