Smell My Arm, Mama!

0 notes

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it when Scott puts some of his deodorant on Sam in the morning.  Sammy runs up to me and says “Smell my arm, Mama!”  And I smell him and say “Oh, Sammy!  You smell handsome like Daddy!”

That probably won’t be so cute when he’s a teenager!

Disney Live!

0 notes

A few weeks ago, while Scott was out of town, I decided at the very last minute to buy tickets to see Disney Live! I was so excited about Sam and I having a special date night. He knew nothing about where we were going when I picked him up from Mimi's house that afternoon so the surprise was huge! We had so much fun before the show walking around, looking at all the kids, shopping and spending a fortune, and getting ready for the show to begin. We ran into his buddy from Mimi's house, Samuel, and we were able to sit with them. That was wonderful! I wish you could have seen Sam's face when his most favorite characters, the Little Einsteins, came onto the stage! Oh, he loved it! During intermission, Sam got it in his head that he wanted to go on stage. I guess he thought the show was over. He's used to going on stage after all of Daddy's concerts, so why should this be any different? During the whole second half of the show, all he talked about was going on stage. I had a very hard time explaining that this wasn't Daddy's stage. I told him that we would have to find Leo (a Little Einstein) and ask him if we could go. Sam was very disappointed when we walked out of the arena.

It was a wonderful, wonderful evening! We sure did miss Daddy, though!

Oh, you have to see Sam gettin' his groove on before the show!

A Day in the Sun!

1 notes

And I mean a whole day!  Sam and I have been outside since early this morning.  Daddy did some yard work before going into work for a short time.  Sammy played his little heart out.  And I sat on the screened back porch supervising and working on the computer.  It was so wonderful to pull all the toys out so that Sam could enjoy lots of water and sand play!  The day is not over yet, but he is covered in dirt from head to toe.  And it is glorious!! Summer cannot get here fast enough!

Quick Zoo Trip

1 notes

Two weekends ago, we had an absolutely beautiful, warm, early summer-like day. Missy and I gathered the kids and spent some time at the zoo, along with the rest of Columbia! It was a quick but fun trip. The best part? Sam and Carson are finally tall enough to ride the train without us. That saved us tons of zoo bucks!

Sam refused to nap after lunch so I wasn't surprised when he immediately fell asleep in the car. I even stopped to get him a Sprite but he was out!

Here are my favorite shots of the day followed by some others:

Snowville

0 notes

We finally made it to EdVenture to visit Snowville! We had a great time with Carson and Sam and I were especially glad that Scott could come along.

Sam and Daddy had lots of fun throwing snowballs, sliding down the snow covered mountain and going ice fishing! The slide was a big deal for Sam. He has been going through some kind of phase and has not been willing to slide for a while.

Here are a few other shots from our time in Snowville. Sam and Carson spent a lot of time in the playhouse. As we watched them play, I imagined that one day they might be college roommates sharing their first apartment. Thank God Carson's Mommy and Daddy are already teaching him how to cook!
