Recently, Scott was the featured concerto soloist with the USC Symphonic Band. It was a great performance and a big night for Scott.
It was a big night for Sam, too! He got to watch Daddy perform with the "orchestra" as Sam would call it. He was sooo excited when we took our seats and he could see all the instruments. I wish I had a clear picture to show you the look on his face as he watched Scott perform with the band. He was so intent and watching every little thing. After the standing ovation, Sam cried as Scott left the stage so we had to hurry down to find him.
Sam's most favorite show, and really the only one he watches right now, is Disney's Little Einsteins. This child can use musical terms like nobody's business! It is just amazing the vocabulary he's developing from watching this show. And his knowledge of instruments! It was a very special treat for Sam when we got to go on stage with Daddy right after the concert. Sam knew exactly which instrument he wanted to check out as he repeatedly asked to see the harp. I don't think I've ever heard him talk about it, but he must have noticed it while we watched the concert. Thankfully, the harpist was still on stage, packing everything up. She uncovered the harp and let Sam explore it. I was a nervous wreck, but she was wonderful and let him really get into it.
